OSLO

Oslo is a city of contrasts with the town centre offering easy access to the surrounding nature. It is only a short transfer to Frognerseteren, 400 meters above sea level to start your winter adventure.

Unique to Oslo is the outdoor life that is literally on our doorsteps and Oslo is the only major city in Europe that can offer great skiing only minutes away from the city centre. Tryvann Winter Park is only 20 minutes from the city centre and the slopes are open from early December to Easter. In addition to the alpine slopes there is an international standard half-pipe for snowboard as well as a terrain park and with artificial lighting you can ski until 22:00. For those that prefer cross country there are more than 1600 miles of prepared ski trails in the Oslo forest with 75 miles lit until 22:00 – so even after a hard day at the conference you can get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air.

Korketrekkeren (the corkscrew) has been a favourite sledding run for locals since the early 1900’s and is also popular with our groups. We provide the helmet and sled – you provide the nerve!

If it is ice you are looking for Oslo has several outdoor ice rinks as well as curling. Arrange your own winter fun and games in our national ski arena.

In a country where the Christmas traditions are still very strong the city is festively decorated and it is well worth visiting whilst the Christmas Market  or during the festivities of the Nobel Peace Prize in December.

It is possible to combine the winter activities with the splendour of the capital, its monuments, attractions and culture.
