The islands off the coast of Norway just above the Arctic Circle were first praised by the poett Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson -and he was a well-travelled man. In Lofoten he saw "mirages that turn floating mountains topsy-turvy ahead of you and behind your back, while whales play and birds are a ‘shrieking." Times have not changed as far as the stunning nature but today there is a wide variety of activities and sights to enjoy on these enchanting islands.
